bros, you don't strike me as shy. You can "talk" to us, you can talk to the teacher too. So if things like this happens again give it a try. You are very smart and I am sure the teacher knows that. This is college it is different from HS, they may not talk down to you like in HS. Very very shy. I have anxiety too. Don't like change. Don't like things going the way they should. Don't like unexpected things coming up. Typing is easier than talking much much easier.

Bro's I am so sorry to hear about your stress...I hope that this gets easier for you...life is too short to have anxieties to prevent you from daily interaction...you are such an awesome guy that has so much to offer and give...this means talking too. Do you see anyone about your anxiety? BTW I am glad you have "good" pain!

Yeah I guess I maybe should. It has gotten worse as I have gotten older.

You need to get it under control then.

You really seem like you've got a lot to offer people in the way of an "understanding ear" and offering many helpful suggestions; I'd hate to see severe anxiety get in the way of your having good relationships with "live, warm bodies" You're too young to be limited to interacting with a computer screen all day!

You need to get it under control then. My mom said she was similar and she eventually learned how to deal with it. My dad doesn't trust psychologists of any kind because he had a bad experience with one a couple years ago, so he wouldn't let me go to a psychiatrist even if I were to need one for anxiety. You really seem like you've got a lot to offer people in the way of an "understanding ear" and offering many helpful suggestions; I'd hate to see severe anxiety get in the way of your having good relationships with "live, warm bodies" You're too young to be limited to interacting with a computer screen all day! I already spend all my time in front of a computer screen. I think all of my anxiety/rl trust issues stem back to when I was younger. My "friends" used to beat me up because I was disabled, and their parents encouraged it.

The kids who beat you up when you were younger were not Friends. You are older now, and hopefully, you will make better friends.

Maybe, you can take babysteps, ie. get to know your classmates since all of them have the same interests in computers as you have.

No they all seem to know each other already they talk to each other and stuff like that. I don't really know how to... hold a conversation

Actually, you do know how to hold a conversation with most adults, but I can understand where your own age group is more challenging. There is such a range of maturity (or immaturity, in the case of most teens) such that it's hard to find topics to "talk about" with many of them. I have a feeling you've got a lot more "experiences under your belt" than the average adolescent, and their excitement over things like "getting drunk on the weekend" just seems stupid to you. (Actually, when I was a teen, that seemed dumb to me, too. I knew I was in the minority, but I didn't care.) I have a strange feeling that you're probably seeing a "less intense" crowd of students at the CC than you would at a tech-oriented 4-year school, but I understand that you aren't in a position to go to one of those universities yet. I almost wonder if you could get a "recommendation" from one of your teachers as far as who might be another "like-minded serious student" that you could get to know better. (ie, maybe work on an "extra credit assignment project" or something together?)

Yep.
Today my dad talked to social security about the doctors not sending stuff to them. and the lady my dad talked to said that all of my disabilities combined will probably get me some money.
My pediatrician just needs the doctors signature to send the records.
My neurologist who diagnosed me with dysgraphia/ADHD faxed the records.
And the Pediatric Cardiac Electrophysiologist, his records are still in the process of being transferred. So they are going to send the records from the old hospital he practiced at.

bros--
What's the chance of networking with classmates using Facebook or MySpace? Using the computer to "chat" with people may make it easier to get to know them.
My dd is very shy. She has come out of her shell, but still prefers typing and texting to talking in person. And she would definitely rather e-mail a teacher than talk to them.
You do a great job of communicating via computer. I think you should play to your strength!

Don't talk to them much there, unless I am asking them something. Like when I had to ask a classmate who witnessed me having a seizure if she would be willing to talk to the goverment about it

Well, my opinion won't get you a cup of coffee bros, but I like you and think you communicate very well. You'll come into your own. The memory of the 'fish bowl' of public school will fade. I don't know you well, but I believe in you. Keep the faith, bros.

Today in College Success Seminar, I got results to tests we had to take for it. Myers-Briggs Personality test and Strong Interest Inventory. On the Myers Briggs, i'm ISFJ ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISFJ ) On the Strong Interest Inventory, it says my top 10 careers that would fit me. Number one is Special Education Teacher.

Number two is Speech Pathologist. Three - Administrative Assistant Four - College Instructor Five - Technical Support Specialist Six - Social Worker
Then translator, bookkeeper, business teacher, and librarian.
I'm classified in this as Conventional and Social.
My score for Special Education Teacher is 60 (very similar)
My score for Elementary Education Teacher is 39 (Similar)
Computer Scientist has a score of 29 (You could probably not enjoy this work)

Nope. It says I would enjoy teaching special education more than programming. And that I wouldn't enjoy being a physical therapist. And that I would like being a tech support specialist
