I'm surprised they start on a Friday! You can "sleep in" tomorrow, if you need to...(Or maybe it would be better to get in the habit of waking up early, so it's not such a hassle?? LOL! If you're anything like my teen, the chance of that happening is zero!)

If you're anything like my teen, the chance of that happening is zero!) Classes started yesterday, but I have no classes on thursday.. How was your first day! ? I bet you are tired. My son who has some muscle weakness in his bod like you is so totally tired after school. I look forward to hearing how it went for you. I'm pretty tired. Had to walk a bit around campus to find my classroom, then sat down for four hours of math, then went to the Student Center and had lunch, and sat in there for a while. I'm a little sleepy.

That'd just throw off my sleeping schedule. I'll just eat some food to wake myself up. Had lunch like 3 hours ago

If I had seen it earlier, I would have reminded you to pack your Brown Bag. Put a bag of goldfish or gummies in your pocket to kill off those distracting "getting hungry" thoughts.

Next week i'm gonna get breakfast in the cafeteria before my class and eat then. Then i'll eat after class then probably stop by the convenience store and get a snack. (It's like $0.90 for a candy bar)

I hope it was a good first day. Sleep late tomorrow.
My son called after a week and asked us if he could come home this week-end and wash clothes. We had only planned to visit him and have dinner with him, but I guess he is a little bit homesick.

momfromma, your son is doing better than mine did during his first week....Mine is within an hour's drive (non-rush hour) and he found one commuter student who brought him home unexpectedly after just 3 days. (He had been calling numerous times a day, and came home a couple more times during the first two weeks with obvious homesickness...) During his third week, he finally sounded like he'd met enough people to feel comfortable, and now that his "social needs" are being satisfied, I'm back to worrying about his academics! (I called him at 9:30 a.m. today, and woke him up, which obviously means he was up late...) I think it would have been better if he started off at the community college, but he wanted to live away. (Yet not too far away from his girlfriend, etc....)

Sitting around for so long and having to walk around the campus made me tired. I'm going to CC because it is cheaper and I can't live in a dorm in college, and CC is better for transitioning into a 4 year college. I'll probably go to Rutger's (45 minutes away) after 2 years, or another local college.

Doesn't rain just make it harder to get around campus? Or are you saying that rain just makes everyone realize they have to stay indoors, so going to class isn't as bad/depressing, since you can't be outside "playing" anyway?

Nothing like math in the early morning to get you going!
Coffee (espresso especially) works everso much better than a candy bar by the way. I used to have an economics professor who would only teach his applied math classes at 8a. Grrr

Bros so good to hear CC is going well! I am about 20 minutes from Rutgers...my town is so into big RED... I'm about 45 minutes away. My brother had trouble getting off yesterday because of some football game or something Now I got up at 6 am: Pro: I don't have to stay after math for 4 hours Cons: It's 6 AM.

Yeah there was a game yesterday...right at the entrance for exit 9 Turnpike the sign reads..."plan alternate route Rutgers Football"...
It is hard to adjust to 6:00 am...I still need 9 hours of sleep to keep up with my schedule...if I got up at 6, I would need to be in bed at 9:00 pm...now that just is not happening with 4 kids, 2 dogs, and one husband...lol

I'm afraid my son is not putting his priorities on homework again....I know he's got a drafting course on Mondays, and after last week's class, he told us he needed a special .3mm pencil to complete a project, but as of yesterday he still didn't buy it... Now, with the weekend here, he's going to want to go out, so when will the assignment get done? ? (Not to mention the fact he's dysgraphic and left-handed, so I can't imagine how he'll keep from constantly breaking the lead tip.....)

Why cant he just use a computer to do the drafting? Do it in AutoCAD. Or if he can't use a CAD program, he could just use a tablet hooked up to to the computer and draw it in Paint.
I should probably do some of my homework too >_>
