Hi Deb885,
I saw your post above, and would like to suggest that some parents have found that if you split the dose of Strattera to Bigger dose in the morning, and smaller dose afterschool you will get pretty much a 24 hour effect. Also, for your son's weight of 115lbs, 60 mgs is just below his minimum Target dose, which also could be the reason why it is not effective in the evening.
His target range should be Minimum 62mgs and maximum range is 94mgs.
You might have to bring his dose up maybe to 65mgs or 70mgs and if you still don't see effectiveness in the evening, give him maybe 40mgs in the morning and 25mgs after school which will give him a total of 65mgs for the day. Like I said many have found split dosing makes it more of a 24 hour effect.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply I have suggested that at our last Dr appt. but he said there was no need because straterra is a time release med. We have a appt Monday and I think he will up his meds. Again thanks for the support.

Thanks for the reply I have suggested that at our last Dr appt. but he said there was no need because straterra is a time release med. We have a appt Monday and I think he will up his meds. Again thanks for the support. Strattera is not "time released" like concerta or Adderall, in that sense. The meds is buildup in the system, and alot of people have done the split dosing with success. Quite a few people have found that taking one dose doesn't quite make it to 24 hours, and just a little boost after school helps. I think Millermom's neurologist recommended the split, her son takes 25/10 split. And it has helped. If the increased meds doesn't help after school, you might want to consider splitting the dose to see. Just keep that in mind.
