Since my son dropped the Java class this semester, he only has one class on Wed & Fri, from 11:20-12:40 or thereabouts. From what I gather, since he's going to try taking it again next semster with a different teacher, it won't be until late Wed. & Fri., 3:20-4:40 or something like that.... I don't know what the rest of his schedule is like yet.

If you/he wants, I could upload my notes after the class is over.

Thanks, bros! I'll mention it to him. (I got the impression you already KNEW Java, having learned it on your own before you ever went to college...I'm surprised they made you take a class in it.)

Nope, never learned it before. I've only known HTML (a web programming language) before this.
I also have an electronic copy of my book if he wants it.

When I took programming classes, they were in Fortran, with Hollerith punch cards! I know a little html, and my son had some high school C++, but I'm not really sure what's going on with Java...

oh god Fortran. Haha. My programming professor knows Fortran.
My HS offered no programming classes, and only three computer classes.
Java is rather simple. I've heard it is the easiest of the programming languages to read.
If you want, I could give you a copy of the book we are using (I have a free online copy)

Bros, if you don't mind, what's the name of the book/author? (Do on-line books have ISBN's?) Then I'll ask my son. )

Introduction to Java Programming by Y. Daniel Liang, I believe it is called. It costs $99 for a physical copy

Bros, again, that's so kind of you to offer to help. It's not the same text that my son's class specified, HOWEVER I asked him if he thought it could be useful, and he said, "Probably." He's really got to get through this current semester and finals, but then I suggested that he spend winter break (mid-Dec. to mid-Jan.) trying to read some of the Java stuff, and he agreed that made sense. I'm going to admit my ignorance when it comes to on-line texts, but aren't they only good for a certain period of time after they're activated? I don't want to "trigger" a starting date now, since I'm sure he can't use it yet... (I'm also trying to make sure that you aren't out any money for it....wouldn't it make more sense to try and sell it to someone else at your college, who might be taking the class next semester?) I did get the Java for Dummies book that my son can use, so if you know of anyone locally who can use yours, definitely give it to them first.

The period of time was removed on this by the professor.
And I can give your son a list of simple programs to do. I can also give him all of the coding we have done in class, in order to have examples.

Thank you again, for all your offers to help....I will definitely let him know; my husband (his dad) drove him back to his dorm this evening, but I'll "keep in touch." When does your semester end, and you have your finals in this class?

Semester ends December 20th (last programming class is the tuesday before the 20th)
And there will be a final, but it won't be a cumulative test. It will just be a test focusing on the stuff since test 2 with a little bit of eveyrthing else.

This week is pretty crappy so far.
Yesterday, we went to OT, to find out they forgot to schedule me for appointments this week.
And today, I was supposed to take a test, and I went to disability services, and it turned out the person who proctors the tests took the day off because she had no tests.
This week is crappy so far. Probably going to get crappier too.

I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties....what happens now, with the missed test? I know some teachers like to go over their test answers in the next class, but if you haven't had a chance to take it yet...

And now the proctor responded to an email I sent and she told me I can either take it thursday (I can't get there on thursdays) or friday (I can't take it after Math, my mom has to pick me up)
She said I can't take it next tuesday because one person is taking a test from 11-1:30 PM
So basically I have no idea what I can do now.

It seems to me like the proctor's the one who didn't show up when she was supposed to...is there any chance of her driving it to where you are on Thursday, since you can't get to her?

Nope, and she just emailed me back. Apparently her appointment on Tuesday just canceled, so I can take the test then.

Yay. Experiencing coughing and symptoms of Post Nasal Drip.
That means i'm getting Asthmatic Bronchitis sometime in the next few weeks. The cold weather makes it come quicker. But it might take longer to come this year because i'm only outside 3 days a week for school. well 5 if you add in OT, which I only have one day this week.

Should be rather easy. The material was easy. Although I had difficulty paying attention to the class. That class is when my ADHD really.... shines. Because we are sitting at computers for the whole class and I get distracted rather easily

No OT this week or next week Insurance denied 24 more visits until a letter of medical necessity is submitted by a doctor claiming why I need more OT. The Pediatrician said he doesn't feel comfortable writing a letter on something he does not know too much about (my dysgraphia), so he wants us to go to my epileptologist (who doesn't give a damn about my dysgraphia or other issues) to get a prescription + letter of medical necessity (which will cost $15-$60 for her to write)

It is a shame your Peds won't write you the script. Why should the epileptologist charge you for writing a script? That doesn't sound ethical.

The peds would write the script, but he doesn't feel comfortable writing the letter of medical necessity.
The epileptologist would charge for the letter of medical necessity, not the prescription.
$15 for a 1/4 of a page letter.
Oh, and I am definitely getting bronchitis now. Slight wheezing accompanied by slight nausea and my sinuses feel weird.
