I would like to add ADHD & Teens by Colleen Alexander-Roberts. I am only half way through it but it is extremely 'readable'. Straightforward, easy to understand and good ideas. I notice myself picking it up whenever I have a minute - which is a sign I'm really enjoying it.

I was just want to mention some books that my 10 year old son really likes. It's a whole series about a character named Hank Zipzer. Hank is a 4th grader with learning disabilities and a teacher with no sense of humor. They're written by Henry Winkler of all people. I was reading over a book report my son wrote on one of them and he said the reason he likes these books is because he can relate to Hank "because he gets into trouble without meaning to"

I am a newbie, but at an AS/autism conference I attended this spring, I came across a recently published book that could be helpful for parents of the newly dx'd or those just beginning their search for answers: "Autism-ADD-ADHD-Asperger's? A Parent's Roadmap to Understanding and Support!" by Diane Drake Burns I know it is available through Future Horizons.

Learning Outside the Lines by Jonathan Mooney and David Cole - Two Ivy League students with Learning Disabilities and ADHD Give you the Tools for Academic Success and Educational Revolution is a great book - both inspirational and practical. One author is a dyslexic student who didn't learn to ready until age 12. The other an undiagnosed ADHD student who dropped out of high school at age 15 but later returned to school graduating from Brown University. It gives advice especially for the high school-college age student - tips on organization, study groups, notetaking, cramming for exams, writing, etc. It is a fast read that can be referred to again if needed. Glad you like it lep. Just so you know, I am Edumom as well here. I used that for admin purposes when we first started this board. So you won't see Edumom posts anymore except during the startup of this board.

Ross Greene has a new book out. I requested it at my library (Houston) before they got it so I was the first to pick it up, which I did yesterday. It's called, "Treating Explosive Kids: The Collaborative Problem-solving Approach" I haven't opened it yet, but I hope it's as helpful as The Explosive Child".
