Not really but I thought this would be a fun way for me to rant on hard head's school. Yesterday I am leaving school after paying his lunch ticket, the principal stops me. "Are you coming from a meeting with his teacher?" No I say. "Oh well Hard Head is behind and I have been assured they are following the 504, I told them to call you and let's all have meeting." "Nope, haven't heard a peep, yet!" I said. So in my email of today there is a email that the teacher has to meet with me, am I surprised at any of this...no. My oldest has been busting his butt with multiple projects and making sure he is caught up after the county show, Hard Head was at school the whole time.
Grades are due Monday Morning, TD has to have everything done by today or else. Yet I have heard nothing from Hard head's school until today, today I have a procedure. It won't be doable for me to go up today, so I will go on Friday and it will be awful.
Too little too late for my poor baby! I hate this feeling, I want to make a report on teachers!
Okay I feel so much better!!!

My son had a teacher like this in 6th grade. And to make matters worse she told my son that breaking his arm was the best think that ever happened to him. I did go to the district and filed a complaint.
I remember the frustration this woman caused for both my son and I. ( I don't think my son ever recovered from having this woman as a teacher.

So this afternoon I am meeting with his teacher . I am sure he is failing, because they don't talk to you before report cards if he is okay. If he is failing I have to figure out what to do next. This situation stinks, he is suffering and I feel angry at the school.

Grades not good, he is behind. They are pulling him for so much help he is overwhelmed. His teacher needed help to understand how to help him work. They are not breaking the assignments down for him, so wheewwww! All is not bad, he is doing great on computer program and they are going to cut back on some of his pullout.

That is good news, that it wasn't as bad as you thought... What grade is your son in? What computer program are you referring to? Is it a remedial reading program? I work with middle school students as an SLP and have a high schooler with ADD and speech and language issues. Maybe I can help you with some strategies to help you bail until the semester is over.

Thanks they are trying a program called Lexia. The teacher also told me that placement in SPED would not happen until next year. He is not going to get dyslexic help till next year either. My son is so computer oriented that if all his work was on computer he would never be behind. Somehow I think it stimulates his multi sensory need and his high visual perception, which is why he tanks in a regular classroom.

Well had another meeting. I added a bunch more on his 504, we are up to so many additions you can barely see the paper. This was to include his dyslexic mods.
It was a very revealing meeting and I wish I had time to tell you all the math teacher said but I am running behind. Let me just say that I now know enough that if any one thing happens to Hard Head I will sue them and his principal told the teachers that.
Hopefully tomorrow I can give a detailed report for you, his math teacher has no common sense and was basically setting up the school to be sued.
