What I found most stressful is that there was this child with an assumption of increased independence and physically maturing, and defiance, who was very immature emotionally, especialy with the ADHD maturity delay. I agree it was the worst age. As for emptiness and loneliness, it helps to have at least a part time job, so one can have a life out of the home, where one hopes one's efforts would be more appreciated.

Getting involved in activities or engaging in part time jobs can help the mothers to reduce stress and loneliness.
