Healthy, I've been thinking about that article, since you posted it? While they say that Amusia doesn't appear to effect speech recognition. What it makes me wonder, is how it would effect 'phonemic awareness'? Which is basically the ability to be aware of the phonemic units within words. Where pitch recognition, and pitch change, is an essential part of phoneme recognition, and the transition between phonemes? Also with about 4% of people having some degree of Amusia?
