neuro.med.harvard.edu/faculty/livingstone.htmlThis is a pretty long lecture to sit through, 55 minutes. But somewhere after the first half, Dr. Livingstone starts talking about the correlation between dyslexia and artistic talent. She did some studies on dyslexics and discovered that a much higher rate than normal had vision problems such as crossed eyes, that reduction stereo-optical vision. This would explain the sensation of words hopping around on the page, as well as an innate ability to translate 3-D objects into 2-D images. VERY interesting. Not very applicable to my two who don't have any of those vision problems, yet are still artistically talented and observant. Perhaps there's another piece yet undiscovered.

Thanks for the post. It was interesting. I'm having my daughter look at it because I know she will find it interesting although some will be over her head since she is still a bit young for the info.
