I posted on a different thread that my son Noah was having mood swings the last few weeks. Mayleng suggested checking dosage so anyone please advise.
Noah has lost weight since he started. He was 64 lbs last April and last night I put him on the scale and he weighed 55lbs- a 9lb loss. He is currently taking 30mg in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. I did the calculations and he's still under the max dose isn't he?

for his current weight of 55 lbs, his range should be minimum 30mgs to maximum 45mgs. I would suggest you try reducing his dose to 35mgs and see how he does. 40mgs may be too high for him. You could also do a split dosing of 25mgs in the morning and 10mgs in the afternoon. Ask your doctor for some samples of 25mgs and 10mgs and try this. I know Millermom's son is about the same weight, and he is on this split, she tried 40mgs and he was having mood issues. Good luck, you might be surprise just how reducing by 5mgs can change things.

I agree to go down to 30-35mgs. I split 25 in the am and 10 after school. It keeps him happy and the effectiveness lasts through til bed time. 40mgs is too high, it won't give him any extra effectiveness and will only make him nasty!
My son was 57 when he started Strat and fell to 52lbs the first few months. I too was concerned but he did maintain andslowly his apetite returned. He eventually gained it back and we are teetering on 56-57 now, with a healthy appitite and a good work out program. Going down in mgs a little will also probablt help bring that weight back up.

Oh my god! I posted it in the wrong forum. Can it be moved to the right one ? Very sorry, tal tal, which board did you want it moved to. Are you sure it is on this Forum, or did you mean to post at Veronika's Forum? I don't see NativeL's post anywhere here to move to. I cannot move posts from here to another Forum/Site . I can delete your posts if you like.
