Lucky me. Just got home and have a message on the machine from the teacher. ALL of the teachers want to meet with me on Monday to discuss DS behaviour w/ the other students. She then added that it's been only recent. Now I get to worry all weekend long.

How thoughtful of her (and she left it on an answering machine?).
Try not to worry. There is nothing you can do between now and Monday, so try telling yourself that worrying would be a waste of time & energy. Sometimes that works well.

Yup, cross that bridge when you come to it. Maybe this would be a good opportunity to discuss his medical problems and educate them as to how to handle him.

Try not to worry - I know that's tough.
I would hope they're all ready to help your son by coming up with positive solutions.

Thanks guys! I'm trying not to worry.
I've just spent the last two hours reading about 504s. DS has one for his seizure disorder that is no longer an issue. I'm trying to decide if I should just request a review to add the ADHD or if I should go for an IEP. Don't know. I'm going to wait to see what his teachers say.

Can someone go with you to the meeting? I can't believe they left that message for you. Shouldn't they of said 'We would like to schedule a meeting . . .'. I would call Monday morning and say 'Sorry, that time's not convenient for me' - Aaaaaugh these people make me so mad.

2pearl, that happened. I can imagine how it must have been to listen to that message, your blood running cold. I agree they should not have done that... on a Friday, yet!!! I also agree that it would be great if you could take someone to the meeting with you. I hope that the outcome of this will ultimately be positive.... that you can get some support for your ds at school. Let us know what happens..

My husband is going with me. I have calmed down quite a bit. Whatever is going on has to have been very recent. My conversations with his teachers on report card pick-up day were all positive. I've only gotten two phone calls all year, both from his Spanish teacher. I know that DS has been having a problem with another student and I'm guessing that the kids parents called and complained. If it was very serious he would recieved a misconduct and I'm sure I would have gotten an actual phone call. DS swears that he's been behaving in class and he thinks it's about this kid he's having problems with. We'll see. I hope there are no big surprises. Thanks for all the kind words. I'll let you know what happens.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwww!
I survived the meeting!! And I guess you could say it was a good news/bad news type of meeting. The good news is that I was wrong about the social problems. He has had a few run ins with some kids but the teacher actually said they weren't DS fault. She wanted to discuss it though because he has been so upset over it. Overall she said he does pretty well socially and is not a behaviour problem. The bad news is that he's a mess grade wise because he doesn't turn work in, doesn't finish stuff, forgets things etc. For now we decided that I will recieve weekly emails about the homework assignments and he's going to have a friend assigned to help him pack up. His 504 review will be after the break and hopefully we can come up with more solutions.
She had some interesting observations though that are med related so I guess I'll post it over on Meds.

Well his academic difficulty means he needs formal support.
Glad you felt "wheewwww"!

Glad the meeting went well. I agree with d, he needs formal support - get that in his 504 and make sure they follow it.
