I'd like to teach my kiddo the keyboard. I need some recommendations of instructional programs for kids. How long does it normally take for them to learn? Mine is 8.5 years old.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll be checking those out this weekend. I sure hope it can help him. If the problem is in how his mind works, I suppose he'll still have a problem typing his thoughts. The district OT evaluated him last year and she said he has no problems in that area.

Mavis Beacon makes a great keyborading program for kids. It makes learning the home row keys and other necessary tools into a game. My ds still types with 2 fingers but does it much more quickly. JumpStart Typing is another good one but many school districts use Mavis Beacon.
