Hi all,
I got a note from C's teacher yesterday telling me (pending our approval), they will be mainstreaming him for social studies starting Friday. He has been mainstreamed for science since early December (he got, I think a B+, with his only O~ for outstanding~ effort, the rest of his effort grades were G ~ for good). We are all very excited.
I have asked his teacher for a conference. WE got his latest report card on Monday...all of his grades stayed in the B range except in Math, he went down to a D. They were doing a lot of timed subtraction drills that he did poorly on, but I didn't know how much a portion of his grade they made up. Now, they are on multiplication drills, and all of them have come back as 100's!
I've also noticed that he seems to be 'rebounding' when he gets off the bus ~ takes a while for that booster dose to kick in for him to be able to do his homework. I want to check to see if she has noticed it as well...a med. increase may be required.
That's the news from here...I'll keep you posted!

Thanks for your responses...Yes, I find I need to celebrate ALL the successes (helps keep me going through the not so good times)!
My daughter (7th grade, not ADHD) has never done well on any kind of timed test either (She freezes up). The odd thing is he brought home another multiplication one and he got all of them right again (hubby is starting to work with him with flash cards for addition and subtraction each night).
I'll keep you updated.

THis is great news.
My oldest was odd, he could do subtraction and division but not adding and multiplying. They never could figure out why. He also could do multi steps in algebra but not the simple math that they wanted him in. It was a fluke that they learned he could do the algebra.
No rhyme or reason for this one.
Glad the multiplying is going good.

Thanks for the replies...he went to Social Studies yesterday (Friday, he came home sick)...he says it went well. We have a meeting scheduled with the teacher Thursday afternoon (just to touch base and plan what to do next)...I'll post after we meet! Yes, it feels good to have things moving in the right direction!
