y*y My son came home with his progress report yesterday. It said he is very bright and creative and is excelling in all areas h*ppy. Behavior was checked off and the teacher wrote "needs to be redirected alot to get back in seat. " I couldn't believe it! This is all she had to say as far as his behavior goes. I am so proud of ds. This is the same boy who has had problems in the behavior department since preschool. He is now in third grade. Last year he missed recess just about every week for about 3/4 of the school year, got sent to the vp office aND was even given in school suspension for behavioral issues! So i look at this issue as minor compared to what we have been dealing with in the past. I wrote in another post about increasing from 27 to 36mg and havent done it yet but if not staying in his seat becomes a real problem i just may have to increase. SOrry to ramble but I had to share some good news

I agree! You should congratulate your son. Whether you need to up his dosage is up to you but he's really come a long way. He's not a "bad" boy because he is active. Keep comunicating with the teacher to see how much this redirecting is a problem for your son's ability to learn and how it affects his social status etc...

We just had our first report card come out. The teacher gave it to us at a parent-teacher conference. To listen to the teacher talk about my child was almost humorous. "She's a very good student, always well behaved, gets along with the kids, etc." Huh? I'm glad, really glad to hear this, don't get me wrong. But at home, this child can be Linda Blair. I guess it's good she's got a place she can let down her hair?

REPORT CARD DAY!!!
Well, my usually A-B son got a D in math! He's been warned that anything lower than a C and the video games are gone. He called me at work to tell me and sobbed when he got to his math grade. I felt just awfuL I"m not sure i was being fair. He did get an A in science and various B's and C's in other classes. Overall, not bad.

We only have one rule about report cards. We only care that our dd's do their best. Grades are a non-issue except that we try to find out what the problem is. Terry
