Well we got the 3rd term report card ;D I am so proud of my son!! He improved in some critical areas and stayed the same in most. His teacher praised how hard he has been working and that he will not give up even when things are difficult for him. I started giving my son his 36mg of concerta a little earlier than usual about 2 weeks ago. I have been giving it to him between 6-6:30am. I have been giving it with 8oz of water instead of juice (mayleng gave me good info about that...see medication discussions). Things are good and now lets hope they continue. To all of you out there who think things cant improve... hang in there... there is hope. ADHD one of the most difficult things I have ever had to deal with. Thanks to great communication between teachers, guidance counselors, and pediatrician, support from husband, and working together as a family, and this forum, things have greatly improved for my son with ADD and us his family Dont stop suggesting and support here. It pays off. When our days seem gloomy...this forum can help us see clearer and get back on track. Goodluck to you all. Remember.... I am here and will support you in any way I can.

Hi Mayleng, my son said that he thinks that the medicine works "quicker" than before. He said he feels great. He is not as tired? So far so good. His attitude is fine. Things are good I have passed on your information to others whose children take concerta. Thanks for all you do.

We're feeling the same way you are. Little by little, we're addressing each issue and succeeding. Oh, the effort! But we're seeing the fruits of our labor now, slowly, very slowly but surely. My dd9 brought home another straight A report card this time. We're so pleased. We increased the Strattera to her maximum dose and we're seeing results there. No more morning meltdowns, an evening out of her moods. We added Lexapro and we feel like we're starting to see our daughter without the anxiety for the first time. She's actually a lovely little girl instead of the monster anxiety and depression had turned her into. With the Lexapro seems to be an increase in impulsivity, for some strange reason, and that's not much fun. But we'll deal with it somehow. Yes, improvement is very possible. And so worth waiting for! It's not easy but it's been worth each and every minute of trial and error, because we're discovering that it makes a huge difference in their lives, socially and academically.
