I haven't found one bullet cure to help my daughter with math but I have tried Reader Rabbit Math games and they really make math fun. I started her below her ability level to gain confidence and now she is doing at least her own grade level generally. She doesn't do any one thing for very long so I try to slip in math in her natural environment like while we are driving counting fence posts by 2's. Long boring car rides are great for slipping in all sorts of lessons actually. I'm not saying that Reader Rabbit or other computer games are the only avenue for success just one other tool. I'm not sure how well they work fro kids who also have an LD. My daughter is the type that is very smart in all subjects but gets easily frustrated or just doesn't want to sit too long so we have to find non-traditional ways to get subjects that she considers boring into her brain. Now that she is succeeding in math at school, she can actually sit longer and do her math homework also. So now that she likes math so can sit longer and try harder. There still is obviously a limit to how long she will sit for anything though!
