I just got an email announcing that InternMatch.com (powered by LookSharp) has acquired Readyforce.com. Readyforce had built a powerful hiring network for students and recent grads. The key points were:
"Readyforce works with over 2,000 fantastic employers including SpaceX, Microsoft and MathWorks. Think: more opportunities, more options, more employers looking at each profile.
Readyforce has some exceptional job related content. The best posts will be selected and put onto InternMatch. Our goal is to give you access to all the best jobs, and to make sure you quickly hear back from employers once you've applied."

How opportune, Healthy 11. I spent Thanksgiving with my youngest daughter, who is a senior in college. While I was in town, she had her first job interview, with Amazon, for an executive management training program. She met a recruiter at a college fair who interviewed her initially and took her resume. She then was contacted for a second interview. My daughter is also applying to executive management programs across multiple fashion retail companies. The Amazon program is for 9 months. She is also busy learning software and other skills she will need as an administrative assistant, a fallback position, as she has worked as an administrative assistant at UC Berkeley Space Science Center in the summer. The latter position would pay far higher than a retail job. My daughter can live in the studio apartment detached from my brother's home, for $300/month and she can then save money, to go to New York and the Fashion Institute of Technology if she cannot break into the field she wants to enter. Not easy as a new grad.
