Common Core Test Results are starting to be released

Results for some of the states that participated in Common Core-aligned testing for the first time this spring are out, with overall scores higher than expected though still below what many parents may be accustomed to seeing. The full article contains much more information.

The results will be interesting. The Common Core is largely modeled against Massachusetts curriculum standards. But even so, I heard many complaints agains the PARCC - technical difficulties, takes to long to administer etc. Many districts opted out and gave the MCAS, some gave both and a some only the PARCC. This, plus 8-12 snow days for many districts in February left less than ideal conditions in Massachusetts.
