www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/31/eraser-challenge-connecticut-school_n_5064561.html?utm_hp_ref=mostpopularThis is described as an activity primarily occurring among middle-schoolers, but parents need to be aware of it. "School administrators at Bethel Middle School in CT recently sent a letter home to parents and guardians asking they talk to their children about a dangerous game called the "Eraser Challenge." The game, the letter explains, involves kids “'erasing’ their skin while saying the alphabet and coming up with a word for each letter. Once they get to the letter Z, they stop and then compare the injury to their [friends']...” (This may be one of those times when we can be grateful our kids have dyslexia, since perhaps it will minimize the chances of them voluntarily doing anything related to the alphabet and writing!!)
