Hi,
We still have one more week to go, but ds has been in band camp, and has been in a surprisingly cheerful mood (I think the band is desperate for freshman to join and are being really nice to incoming students). We'll see how things go as the week progresses!
Wimom, hope things go well for your dd tomorrow! When ds was in middle school, something would be messed up almost every year with the schedules, either they would receive a new schedule on the first day that was totally different, or the schedule would be correct but had incorrect room numbers on it, so the school was very forgiving the first week or so about people getting to class, etc. I would prep ds by reminding him that things might not be super-smooth but he wouldn't get in trouble because everyone would be having the same problems and that made him feel a little better....

In my HS and MS, we wouldn't get locker combos until after all of the necessary beginning of the year forms were signed and completed

Good luck for your daughter tomorrow, wimom.
ds is starting on Thursday. Still no list of teachers, so I assume it will be given to them during the first period. Hopefully, they will not have messed up.
Good news, we learned tonight that the dance program is continued next year (at least partially), and the computer seems to be willing to live another year.

OK. Now, I am having nightmares. Since another child of mine is going to the same HS, I am having nightmares of running into my son's old teachers and the special education department chair. I'm afraid I won't be able to hold my tongue if they say ANYTHING to me. They literally turn my stomach, and I don't know if I have the strength to keep my mouth shut.
